Trait | Trait | Trait__

"Insert a quote here or something."

__The dragons native to the Starfall Isles are nothing but curious. It is their thirst for knowledge that spurs them on and keeps them going even when things are difficult – but even then, not even the bravest researchers had the courage to enter the cave that neighboured their clan.

__They were tormented by the creepiest of sounds and haunted by the largest shadows ever seen by dragonkind. And when brave warriors stepped in to investigate the place, they found it to be empty, leading them to the conclusion that there were ghosts – maybe even demons – living inside it.

__Desperate, the dragons called for help. Their pleas reached Aaravos, a scribe. He wasn't planning on going. After all, he wasn't a ghost hunter, but a simple scribe whose purpose was to archive important events. However, after a little coaxing from his mate, he agreed to help.

__When he got there, the dragons he found were clearly distressed. His experience told him that something was off, but not in the way that they expected. When he told them that he would spend the night inside the cave, the townspeople were begging him not to, telling him that it was a dangerous place and that terrible things would happen.

__Aaravos, not listening to their nonsense, packed his bag and spent the night there. He planned on staying awake to try and find out what was really going on, but he was tired, and it didn't take too long for sleep to take over.

__While he was unconscious, he couldn't hear the pitter patter of little feet behind him. A scared hatchling watched him from afar, not used to visitors in his den. Normally he would hide, but curiosity got the best out of the little dragon and he stepped closer. He circled around Aaravos and stopped when he caught a glimpse of his bag.

__Past fear now forgotten, the hatchling took out all of his working materials and started tinkering with them. Clocks, mirrors and feathers were all sprawled around him as he played. However, out of all these items, one had all of his attention: a roll of yarn. He took the yarn to his secret spot, not caring about the dragon behind him.

__The little dragon was noisy, and it didn't take too long for Aaravos to wake up. He noticed his belongings all scattered around and a trail of yarn leading deeper inside the cave. Frustrated, he followed the trail and the slightest sound of hissing reached his ears. When he got closer, he could see a baby spiral tangled in the same yarn he had stolen. When the hatchling caught sight of him, he whimpered and tried to run away, but Aaravos gently picked him up before he could injure himself.

__Slowly, he untangled the tiny spiral, who also seemed to calm down. When he was done, the hatchling didn’t run away. Instead, he seemed interested in the many different items the dragon had on him. Aaravos, who wasn’t able to find the parents of the tiny spiral, decided to bring him back to the sanctuary with him.

__However, that posed a problem; the bright sun hurt his little eyes and he was too shy to make friends with the others. So, Aaravos and his mate, Elarion, crafted a semi-transparent blindfold, that way, he would be able to play outside without much trouble. It was then that Elarion named her adoptive son, Shadowsight.

__Soon, Shadowsight proved to be a very curious hatchling. He kept hiding in dark corners, sticking himself in tiny places and only coming out after Elarion started freaking out… Even though taking care of him was quite the hassle, Aaravos had to admit that seeing him happy and full of energy like that was better than having him sulk around their den all day.

__One night, Aaravos was writing documents to send to the Clankeepers when Shadowsight hopped on his table and started tinkering with his materials.

__"Oh, so you want to be a scribe too?” An amused chuckle rumbled in his throat.

__The hatchling patted the papers and rolled in a circle before eyeing his father and shouting with a high-pitched voice: “Ski-be!”

__Aaravos poured a little bit of ink on his paper and told Shadowsight to wet his claws in it. The documents Aaravos sent were filled with delightful pawprints of varying colors and intensity. The dragons who received the documents were nothing short of amused and asked the dragon to send them paintings with the little one’s pawprints in it.

__Shadowsight had found a new pastime and the lonely little dragon now had more friends than he could count.

Childish Glee
A child in the dark, all alone,
encased in a cave made of stone;
with shadows he plays,
in mischievous ways,
giggling in the most eerie tone.

Inquisitive Little Thing
Little hatchling with colors of the night,
Umber and ichor stirs such a fright,
Curiosity calls you away from the dark,
Out of your cave to a brand new start,
Little brave hatchling your curiosity grows,
Show them kindness and compassion no one else knows.
