Biography

"Tide's reports of something in the water speaking to him concern me. If no one else is willing to take up watch, it is my duty. I will not have another child drown."

One of Nil and Bayo's youngest children, Ignatius seeks to set himself apart from his siblings. With little of his mother's natural magical talent but much of his father's elite bearing, he uses his charm and talented use of words to capture the attention and loyalty of those willing to part with artifacts in the hopes to become a skilled magic user despite his lack of a natural affinity towards it.

In his early life, Ignatius had a brief romance with Claire, one of the Rotmarrow Clan's moon priestesses. Though they loved each other dearly, the deaths of two of their children in the ocean sent him into a spiraling depression that he couldn't dig himself out of, and he and Claire have separated as romantic partners for the time being.

Now deeply wary of the ocean, it caught his attention when Tide, the current youngest son of Rapture and Heraclius, said that he had been trying to follow a voice when his parents stopped him from crawling into the sea, only a month after his own daughters had succeeded in doing so. Ignatius set up a watchstation on a cliff overlooking the ocean, the walls lined with all sorts of magic-sensing devices, and will likely only leave when he discovers what caused Tide- and perhaps his own children- to attempt to walk into the ocean.
