Fang was born from a Guardian and a Snapper, a bundle of fur from two patches of scales. In all honesty, Fang isn't sure why he turned out the way he did; covered in fur, with sharp tusks that grew past his lips. He didn't... he just didn't particularly like his appearance. His mother had coddled him, telling he was just a special little child. He just wanted to be normal, so he left. Only he would ever know who his family was, anyways. He trekked from the Viridian Labyrinth, all the way to the Scarred Wasteland, just to run into his older sister. Small world, she had said, and then he was introduced to the 'pack' leader; a fluffy, toothy ball of fluff in front of a plague ridden yet elegant thing of pride. She accepted him, and though he remembers his true mother fondly, he sees Agrona as his mother, even if her mate Haerbol is a bit of an oddball to him. They provided everything he could ever want and need, and to them he is the most normal dragon in the world. He had just wanted to help, he hadn't meant for everything to go so awry. He crouched in front of the fallen ridgeback, chuffing quietly as he nudged her with his head. In her arms was an egg; he hadn't known that she was protecting her child when he had lunged. He had been hungry. He couldn't help the poor vision he had, how she had looked like a dangerous beastclan. He didn't mean to hurt her, he promised. "Oh, Fang." The fluffy dragon turned at the voice, wordlessly running into Agrona's arms. They remained silent for a while, and Agrona eventually led him away; he knew she had seen the egg, but he also knew that they couldn't afford any more members. The nasty scratch on his eye was treated by his father, Haerbol, and he resigned to his nest the rest of the night. He was sorry. He hadn't meant it, he was sorry. In his dreams, a lone mother cried. |
