Oracle

The spirits that plague these lands felt sorry for awakening the ancient evil that slept beneath the soil, and they sought to repay the clan for their trouble as well as prepare them for the coming battle.

Oracle wishes they hadn't.

He was gifted - or cursed - with the power to see the future. He had this ability even before hatching. He saw the world, the life he would lead, and the future of his clan, before he had the chance to live it himself. The path has been altered many times, by his own actions and by the slight deviations caused by random events. Only Oracle knows the repercussions of every choice, and it's a terrible weight he carries.

Oracle spends a lot of time on his own, watching the world around him without engaging. His ability makes him feel like an outsider, and he has trouble focusing on the present rather than the future. The dragons he relates most to are his brother, Hallow, and Sylvia. He seems to know something about Hallow that he won't say.

Sylvia, who was also gifted/cursed by the spirits, acts like an older sister or aunt to him. This has caused some friction between Sylvia and Oracle's parents, as they feel like she's trying to take their place. However, they often feel out of their depth when interacting with their son, so they haven't stopped Sylvia from mentoring him.

Oracle rarely shares the futures he sees, but he will occasionally tell Sylvia about them, especially if there is little to no chance of the future coming to pass. One of the things he's told her is that, in the original timeline that he saw before he was hatched, he wasn't called Oracle. That future was erased when he hatched and the clan saw his faceted eyes, however. He did not tell her what his name was originally.

Currently, he is putting his gift of foresight to use by directing the clan's breeding projects.
(Still early - interested in dragons to help breed. End stages - no longer looking for dragons.)
