SUBSPECIES LORE

A bird-like subspecies of dragon, the royal duskwings (so named for their royal purple fight wings), have become nearly extinct. They were a fiercely territorial and elusive folk, making their homes in the deepest recesses of the wilderness. Their ample magics excelled in illusions and barriers to keep outsiders away from their homes. What became of these secluded havens is, at present, unknown.

Very few dragons of this subspecies exist as they find themselves replaced with their strange progeny called the "new blood". The original "old blood" royal duskwings were created as arcane experiments to enhance magical ability, and their unstable forms have led to this more stable deterioration. The easiest way to tell the difference between an old and new blood are their number of wings- old bloods have 6 wings while new bloods have only 2 or 4.

-Iridescent primary gene
-Bee secondary gene with Royal color
-Scales tertiary gene
-Must be Skydancer or Wildclaw
-Any eye color/type and flight association

PERSONAL LORE

One of the last known original duskwing havens is watched over by an individual named Naotalay. In a bid to soothe the loneliness of his corner of the Starwood, he dropped the magical wards that protected it from the world. Dragons from across the land would stumble through, and those with no home or life to return to were encouraged to stay.

Though generally friendly, Nao pours most of his effort into the protection of his domain. Most would call 'aloofness' his most defining trait, and he is rarely seen even by those of his clan except in times of need. Among the growing numbers of new blood duskwings, many would come to find that he avoids them entirely. Though he welcomes them into his home, they remind him of his lost family and he's still working through the pain of their loss.
