Personal Bio / About Me
Hi! I'm xGemDragonx (or just Gem)! My timezone is FR+3, and I'm usually available on-and-off throughout each day. I do have a full-time job and lots of hobbies, so don't be alarmed if I don't respond right away! I also have really bad brain fog sometimes, so if it's been a while and you think I might have missed something, let me know! I don't bite ^.^
I go by any pronouns and I identify as Genderfluid. I'm also aroace (well... it's complicated, but aroace is a label I'm comfortable enough with). I'm neurodivergent and tend to use tone indicators when I feel it's necessary. Another little quirk of mine is that I really like using analog emojis :D
I love dragons! A friend introduced me to this game and I've loved it ever since. My favorite thing to do is breed pretty dragons, but I also like dressing them up! I like to play forum games on occasion. I love writing lore (although I often can't find time to write it down or I simply forget to-). I'm still improving at writing connections and relations between characters. I'm always happy to receive advice or feedback on my lore! Just keep in mind that what you see in bios might not be the full picture! lol
Outside of Flight Rising, I like to do art, cosplay, watch TV shows, play other video games, and write stories. I've always loved art and other creative hobbies. I'm not a huge "hanging out" kind of person and I don't have a lot of friends IRL (which is fine by me tbh - I'm bad at having friends...). I just like to stay at home and do what makes me happy.
I try to be a super welcoming, accepting, and open-minded person. In my opinion, if you're doing what makes you happy and it isn't hurting anyone else, it doesn't matter how different, odd, or "cringe" it is. You're safe to express yourself around me! If I make mistakes, please (politely) correct me!
There really aren't a lot of things that make me angry, so don't worry too much about accidentally offending me! Of course, don't try to exploit this, either. Just know that I know my worth, but also know it's not worth getting mad over other people's mistakes :)
Dragon Preferences
I make exceptions for almost all of these! My mind can easily be changed ^.^
I love doubles!! (XXY and XYY especially!) Matchy XYZs are also super fun! My color preferences are very diverse. I love clashy and bright colors, but I also love more natural and dull colors! Be it pastel or eyeburner, I love them all <3 My favorite breeds include Skydancers, Spirals, Imperials, and Wildclaws!
I'm not a huge fan of most ancient breeds, but of these, Auraboas and Aethers are my favorites.
My least favorite breeds include Bogsneaks, Snappers, Mirrors, and male Ridgebacks. My favorite genes are Wasp/Bee, Flaunt/Flair, Harlequin/Jester, Koi, and Opal! I also like most high-contrast genes. I don't really have any least favorite genes! I like matchy G1s! ...Although I am a little picky about G1s. I prefer to hatch them myself rather than buy them.
General FAQs
As a general rule of thumb for all FAQ questions, most questions have an answer of "just ask - the worst I can say is no."
"You've been inactive for ages!! Are you coming back?"
Almost 100% yes! I have a bad habit of dropping hobbies / interests very quickly with little notice... but I do always get interested in them again! This can range anywhere from a couple weeks to a year, but in most cases it's only a month or two. Feel free to interact with me while I'm gone, and I'll respond when I'm back! (And in case you're wondering, if my dragons are starving, yes, I'm most likely inactive)
"Can I send you a PM / comment on your profile?"
Of course! I read every message I receive (even if I don't immediately respond). Whether it's thanking me for buying your dragon, requesting to buy one of mine, commenting on one of my dragons, or any other thing you can think of, go for it! Just know that I'm not good with small talk, if that's what you're looking for.
"Can I send you a friend request?"
If we've interacted before, sure! If I reject, just send me a PM reminding me where we interacted (I have bad brain fog sometimes). Generally, if we haven't met before, I'll decline random friend requests due to personal preference.
"Can I send you a hatchling letter?"
Absolutely! I can't guarantee I'll respond immediately, but I'll try to get around to it as soon as I can! I love seeing my dragons' children living complex lives in other players' lore! :D
"Can you breed ____ and ____?" / "Can I breed my dragon with yours?"
I'm a little picky about the lineages of some of my dragons, but if it's something you're really passionate about and there's no other option, I may be willing to nest pairs that I wouldn't typically nest together (whether that's two of my own dragons or mine and anybody else's).
"Why is my art in a dragon's bio uncredited?"
IS IT?? I'm very sorry if this happens - I may have mixed up a code or forgotten who made the piece. I credit all artwork in my dragons' bios by linking to the user's page. If you click on the image and it doesn't link to your page, please let me know! Be sure to include evidence if possible (to prevent art theft, just in case. This can be a screenshot of your message giving me the art, of the layers of the art piece, or the fact that the signature matches your current username and/or ID). I will gladly credit you and once again apologize for this occurance!
Dragon Sales FAQs
"Can I buy ____?"
If a dragon is in my sales tab, of course you can! I don't usually have fodder dragons, but if I do, you're welcome to buy them for the current fodder floor of their age (adult vs hatchling). Sometimes I might be willing to sell or reserve some of my project dragons. Most other dragons are a hard no (unless stated otherwise), but I won't bite if you ask - the worst thing I can say is "no" !
"I sold you a dragon and it's now fodder! Can I buy it back?"
As stated, I don't typically exalt dragons, but if for some reason I decide to start, absolutely! You can buy back your fodder at the same price I bought it for (unless it's been leveled, in which case the price will increase a bit - about 5g/kT extra)
"I bought a dragon from you but I don't want them anymore! Can I get a refund?"
Generally the answer to this is no, however, if you bought the dragon for a breeding project / pair but forgot to check relations or gender, and now they're incompatible with the mate you had lined up for them, I'm willing to refund the amount you paid if you send them back to me (I do this a lot so I get it lol). Just please don't wait any longer than 14 days after buying the dragon, that way I can double check how much you bought them for. Just send me a message!
Lore-Related FAQs
"Is your lore following the in-game FR lore?"
For the most part, I try to incorporate canon FR lore into my clan. If anything, they sort of coexist without crossing over a whole lot. Nothing really directly conflicts with FR lore, which is good enough for me. The short answer is yes :)
"I find ____'s lore offensive / disturbing. Can you change it?"
If something is offensive to any race, religion, culture, minority, etc., I will 100% change it if you can provide a solid enough reason. I try my best to portray sensitive or potentially questionable topics with as much respect and knowledge as possible, and I do my research before writing anything I'm unfamiliar with. If something is disturbing or triggering to you, you're welcome to reach out and explain your perspective. I do, however, provide content warnings for any dragons who's story may be disturbing for some players. Worst-case scenario, you can always block me if my dragons or lore make you too uncomfortable - I understand people can't always control their triggers, and I can't always cater to every individual's comfort levels, so blocking is the best compromise we have available. I will try to be as accommodating as possible.
