Ephesus was created a Wind Sprite, like all of her kind, by the hand of the Windsinger at the dawn of life.
During the construction of the World Pilliar, she was given domain over liminal spaces- as the wind passes by the world in a constant state, every place temporary in it's path. Though, her power over the in-between may have given her more power than intended.
As the Deities slept, she spent the ages as a wind- guarding the gateways of young life's dens and civilizations. Her pelt became grey over the years by clouds caught in her path.

In the book of Revelation, it is one of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse. It was described for have labored hard and not fainted, and separating themselves from the wicked; and admonished for having forsaken its "first love".
