The world used to be dark, only sounds and smells. She remembers nothing more of it other than the thin and feathery scales that used to adorn her hide. She was treated with nothing but respect, constantly being told that she was the chosen one. The young blind seer who'd save her clan.
One day, her caretaker came to her den and carefully strewn soft silks about her while explaining that today was the day she'd live up to her prophecy. She tugged the silks tighter around her body, finding them to be the softest thing she had ever felt. Loud chanting from outside echoed through the den. They must be ready for celebration. Today was the day all their fears would dissolve. It was right to celebrate.
"You're ready. Follow me." Her caretaker said, grabbing her talon to pull her along to leave her den.
As soon as her foot fell onto the grass outside her den, she knew something was off. There was the sharp stinging smell of blood blowing through the air. The chanting grew louder. Her clanmates screaming her name and cheering.
Her caretaker led her up a short set of stairs and sat her down at the top. "It is now time for the young seer to complete her prophecy. She will give her life so that ours will be blessed by the gods!"
"My life?" she echoed quietly, unsure of what he spoke of.
The clan's cheering drowned out the rest of the words her caretaker whispered to her. Before she could even get another word in, she smelled an unusual smoke as if they were burning herbs right in front of her.
Suddenly, a cold blade was plunged into her throat. The cheering grew quieter and smoked faded until there was nothing left.

Her eyes slowly flicked open to find bright light washing over her. She had known the feeling of sunlight warming her hide, but had never been so blessed to see it. Green grasses, brown tree bark, a myriad of colorful flowers. She couldn't help but reach forward and pluck a small yellow flower from the grass before her.
"Is this the land of the gods? It's so beautiful," she mumbled, looking over the beautiful flower in her possession.
"No, this is the Worldedge Wetlands," a gentle yet booming voice said just behind her. The voice smelled of stones and herbs. It was comforting.
"The area in the Gladekeeper's domain? I always heard stories about flowers but I never thought I'd be blessed enough by her to witness her creations."
The source of the voice stepped forward to be within her eye sight. She looked up to see a large, fluffy Obelisk adorning a golden mask. "That's a dandelion. Some say those are simple weeds and nothing more, but a friend of mine says they make a healthy snack," he said.
"Why would you want to eat something so lovely?"
"Those Tundras are hungry dragons and dandelions are everywhere to find. It's better that they eat them than have your den entirely filled with the things," he said, plucking many other dandelions from the grass nearby. He pushed the bunch towards her.
She happily pulled them forward, immediately remembering the crowns she used to wear. These would make an even lovelier crown than that cold and harsh metal. She began to meticulously piece them together, struggling to work with her dense Snapper talons. She swears she used to be more dexterous. She never saw her talons before but this seems different from before.
"Now, I've got some even prettier flowers around here," the obelisk said, tapping her and pointing towards a grand garden nearby.
Her eyes followed his outstretched talon. There were endless lines of flowering plants and trees bearing fruit. She wanted nothing more than to visit the garden. She dropped her dandelions and quickly stood up to run in that direction.
As she was running, she noticed the Obelisk slowly walking along beside her. His long strides matched her slow bounds.
"Was I always this small and slow? I swear my talons used to be long and my arms were thin," she said, looking up to him between strides. "...I was never allowed to run like this though. It feels so nice."
"They were once different. My mate says you used to be a Skydancer, thin, fragile, and beautiful. She also says you were known as nothing more than a sacrifice for the well-being of a clan from the First Age asking for the blessings of the Earthshaker," he explained. "I wish to give you more in your second life."
She skidded to a stop, kicking up grass and dirt under her feet. In the moment, she looked over the dirt between her thick talons in wonder, having never felt such a soft sensation. "Hold on, my second life? Did the Earthshaker bless them after they completed my prophecy?"
"I would assume so, but now you can explore the other domains and see them all for yourself. The gods' domains are indeed beautiful and I want to give you the gift of seeing them for yourself after hearing such stories through your life. You should see what you gave up yourself for. It's only right."
She wildly looked around where she was standing. "I wish to see it all!" she squeaked out.
"Alright, young one," the Obelisk said with a bellowing chuckle. "Let's start here then."
