^{"Someone sure has laid an awful hex on me..."}

^{Despite his height and how close his head was to the ceiling, Dex always seemed to be on the lookout for something. His eyes darted about as he set up his workstation. Eventually his hand trailed into his pocket and he withdrew a handful of stones and trinkets.

"This one..." he said in a low rumbling voice, "Is for clearing your energy when something evil is afoot." He looks so certain that the combination of things clutched so readily between his pawpads would protect him. "I can smell when things come near to me. My nose gets stuffy." He holds up what looks like a furry creature attached to a keychain. "For luck."

His desk was set up with boxes and packages of strange equipment. They were all in various states of dismemeberment. Before he had been distracted by the wandering feelings, Dex had been trying to put them all together and set them up for the investigation ahead. "I was never this way before. I was cursed when I was younger and now spirits will not leave me alone."

Amidst his paranoia and shifting glances, he seemed to be utterly tired with dark circles under his eyes. His muscles flexed as he finally gave up cradling the stones and set about back to work. "Those things protect me, if it weren't for them and my friends, I don't know where I'd be..."}

^{Dex left his home with the intention of traveling the world. However, what he never expected was to run into a curse. Not that he went out of his way looking for a curse, but somehow, he found himself entangled in a spell of bad luck he couldn't explain.

He attempted to attend school and that didn't work, he attempted to find business ventures, and that didn't work either. Eventually, he grew so desperate and destitute, he asked for help from his old friend in fixing his problem. Although still paranoid, now he at least has found some peace in his life. For now.}

Jack
^{Jack is Dex's best friend. After meeting in college and trying to get Dex to help him with his paranormal pursuits, Dex, to frightened by the thought, initially turned his friend down. However, when his luck started to go sour, there wasn't anyone that Dex would have trusted more to help him. Jack always brings out the best in Dex and Dex knows it.}

Rupert
^{While Dex sometimes has to try to reign in Jack's wild ideas, he never has to do that with Rupert. Even though he and Rupert sometimes have very different opinions about the paranormal, they have enough respect for each other that it doesn't really sour the relationship. These two can oftentimes spend hours just in silence enjoying each others company.}

Core
^{Dex can often never really get a word in with Core. Sometimes, it is overwhelming for him and so he keeps his interactions with Core short and sweet so he never has enough time to get a bad opinion of his friend. Dex doesn't think there's anything wrong with who Core is as a person, but sometimes Dex enjoys his quiet. He helps Core a lot with some heavy lifting around the lab.}

Shrimp
^{Dex is absolutely terrified of Shrimp. Not for anything that Shrimp has ever done to him, but the channeling gives him the heebie-jeebies and he can't shake the unspoken feelings of terror about the unknown. Although he would protect Shrimp with his life if it came to it, just as anyone else in his group, he doesn't want to be left alone in a room with her.}
