  A B O U T
Far from young but still bearing some of the recklessness of youth, Saltpetre is the dragon who keeps the cannons of the SMS Endeavor in working order. They take great pride in that task, not allowing any others to handle the heavy and dangerous equipment.

Some harbormasters question the necessity of a merchant ship carrying so many cannons, but Saltpetre sagely informs them that they need some way of protecting themselves from pirates, don’t they?

  H I S T O R Y
Saltpetre has shown outrageously strong magical potential since they were a hatchling, a trait not often seen in wildclaw dragons. Though their clan was ill-equipped to handle the rearing of such a powerful mage, his family did their best and Saltpetre filled in the gaps with a great deal of experimentation. The piecemeal instruction produced an odd hybrid of raw casting and alchemical techniques.

He learned that his experiments often produced explosions as the physical ingredients combusted under the weight of his magic. Saltpetre quickly found himself developing an intense fascination with the bright and loud displays.

Unfortunately, pursuing his newfound passion did not come without sacrifice. It was an ill-fated injury to one of his siblings that finally prompted him to depart his clan. Though he has learned enough control and precision over the years since to keep those around him safe, the slight miscalculations and occasional errors have left him mostly deaf and with several areas of scarring. Despite it, Saltpetre would never give it up.
