What lies beyond...
Eleazar has been through the rough and tough land of Sornieth, years after the long-lived reign of dragons had been ended by the rouge, vengeance seeking beastclans that now dominate the few continents of the world. While he is quite old for a Mirror, he for sure certainly isn't the rustiest tool in the shed. Many draconic artifacts and pieces of lore had been scavenged by the hands of Eleazar, to keep the legend of dragons alive even after the mass purging of their kind years after the inception of the ravenous Monsooners. Eleazar is rarely seen, hardly heard of, and ensures the best use of his time within the confines of the keep. He is well aware of the dangers ahead of him, and even death is the least of his concerns. If push came to shove Eleazar would give up his life without hesitation for the sake of all dragonkind. |
“An old tongue they once spoke, still means the same to us years after.”
What the world has come to...
The creation of Sornieth and the rule of dragonkind had been scrawled into every tome there is, describing the beginnings and ends of the bygone eras that had determined the shape of the continents and its diverse inhabitants. Most significant of them all were dragons, fighting under the dominion of their respective deities they scuffled with one another in an almost constant warring. While they were intelligent and dexterous, very little was known of them to other creatures, and instead of their rich cultures and deep history each dragon was known for their ferocity and their connections to the various lei energies in the world that sadly lay dormant in modern times. During the waning age of dragons, the damage caused by the warring devastated Sornieth. Many of its inhabitants grew displeased with how these supposedly legendary creatures were siphoning resources from their homes for the means of advancing a pointless, spite-filled war, which lead them to turn tail against the Flights and take arms. This course of action split the Beastclan factions, those who believed their war could be stopped without applying any more violence, and those who sought to bring an end to dragonkind, believing it to be the only definitive solution. Years went by, and by acquiring powerful ancient artifacts from the second age, long before the idea of dragons were put forth by their deities, ravaged the dragon population in about a month's time. The use of these weapons was near limitless, but they were scarce in number, dwindling the energy and breath of a dragon in order to make slaying them trivial. As time went by the creatures who pushed forth the end of the draconic reign were known as the Monsooners. The history of dragons has long been lost, aside from hastily preserved tomes during the apocalyptic panic. Scrolls of lore and artifacts lay in-between the dying world and the sands of time. And as the livelihood of dragonkind spirals downward, the world of Sornieth is left vulnerable to The Shade, which has been left unchecked. |
