Among thralls, Cassie is pretty mundane.

She isn't some manifestation of distilled magic. She's just a soul shifted to another body, one of Deephaze's least favorite kinds of experiment- they didn't get any of that life-essence for themself. Cassie wasn't even his idea, she was Basilica's.

At least she doesn't look boring next to the rest of the thralls. She glows bright with magic, even if she isn't some fantasy-beast.

It's nice to walk between worlds. She can speak to the other thralls, despite their alienness, with a level of familiarity. But she's also dragon enough that the actual cultists let her mingle among them without much issue.

It's relaxing. Cassie misses being a Guardian, sure, but her memories of that body are vague and bleary enough that she doesn't have to pine. She was dead for a good while before being transferred. She'd take any body in return for literal resurrection.

Cassiopeia is by far the most relaxed of the thralls. She takes it easy, hardly fussed to be an Aberration in her new life.

She's a very weird Aberration, though. The transfer of her soul to this body only succeeded because both previous occupants were long gone- multiple days dead- and with only one mind in the body, it took a long while to get used to controlling two heads at once.

Cassie is very symmetrical. Her heads mirror each other, performing the same motions, and although they have separate reflexes (one might flinch at something in its peripheral without the other moving), they are largely united.

And Cassie is resourceful. When things get too overwhelming, she can close one set of eyes and pretend to be one-headed again. That's the nice thing about being the new owner of this body: she's still just separate enough from it to control things pretty objectively. Take a mental step back, when she needs to.

It makes her very unusual for a thrall, and she almost feels bad for the others. She spends a lot of time with Joule, listening to his rambling and pitying the frenetic circles he drags himself around in. She's very aware that she got lucky. Bound to servitude or not, she wants to make the most of her fortune.
