A New World

Shepard didn't feel anything. She had thought death would have felt like something different this time around. She had, after all, stood next to the column as it had exploded. The weight of her choice to destroy the Reapers had yet to settle in. She felt like she could float away. Looking around her, all she could see was a greenish hue. Some parts veined into a darker green and occasionally she saw the bright green dome turn dark for a few moments. This wasn't the bar she had promised to meet Garus at.

Garrus. The name of her boyfriend, no, they were beyond that now. Or were they? She had agreed to be a "one Turian kind of woman", but had they put a label on it beyond dating. She wasn't sure. They had briefly discussed adopting a Krogan after the war, there were going to be quite a bit of them after all. It was a shame she had to sacrifice herself. She knew she would be soon forgotten in a galaxy where she was just a footnote. She hoped Garrus was ok. After her death over Alchera, he had gone off to become a vigilante. She hoped history would not repeat itself.

As she contemplated her previous life, the shadows returned. It sounded as if they were talking to her. No, she wasn't going to go crazy like last time. She had to fight it. The dome was much too small at this point. She had to find a way out. A way to repell the voices. She pushed against the sides of the dome, but only found success with pushing her head up. She struggled until she felt the dome give way. She hissed, the bright light and horrid stench filled her nose. Her arms fit through the opening as she pulled her head back to let them through. The dome felt leathery under her palm.

She blinked a few times, not used to having her eyes open for long. "Look, Mudslide! This one’s a fighter," a maternal sounding voice called out. She tried to look at where the voice came from, but her eyes couldn't focus and all she saw was a blurry haze. "Let me help her," a gritty voice replied. Before the maternal voice had a chance to say anything, she felt a gentle set of hands pull her up. "She needs to do it herself to become a proper dragon. If she can't do this, Plaguebringer won't accept her." Maternal hissed.

She was set down in the leather dome. "We survive due to our clans, it is a perfectly acceptable form of survival. We don't always need to fight for survival as if we were abandoned as an egg. We both know having a lineage doesn't mean prevent a dragon from becoming a proper Plague dragon." Came the gruff reply. "I know we want to fit in here, but neither of us sees the value in suffering. We only came here because our clans disapproved of our union."

Maternal sighed, "Then help her. The sooner we leave here the better."
New Faces:
Year's had passed and Shepard had slowly started to get used to this new world, as well as her new body. He hatchday still went through her mind sometimes and she wondered if she was perpetually prevented from death. She had learned a great many things about this world of dragons. The technology was somewhat primitive compared to what she had known. She learned not to talk of her previous life, her new parents had reacted rather horribly to the concept of reincarnation.

Currently, she was in the massive city of AH. It was short for Auction House, but it was anything but. It sprawled miles and miles across, nearly as large as the Wormwound. She was a bit unique, Plague dragons had red eyes, but her eyes were a mix of red and green. Her new parents thought she was cursed. She had left them due to their distrust and had wound up here, at AH. Selling her skills as a gatherer, since that was what she was good at.

Looking around, she found the mercenary section. To say it was huge was an understatement. Dragons of all ages and sizes were up for hire. Some, sadly, were for sale and not hire. Many hatchlings fell into the for sale side of things. The dark side of this world. Looking around she saw dragons with apparel and familiar companions, a sign of established residency in a clan. One, a blue female with Plague eyes, locked eyes with her and made a line towards her.
