Afflicted is the name given to dragons with a specific genetic marker who undertake a secret pilgrimage to the Wyrmwound. There they bathe and drink from the waters of plague for several days before leaving on the next stage of their journey. Passing through the Scarred Wasteland and into lands beyond, the Afflicted dragons seek out others to infect. Pulsing with sickness, changing into something unknown and monstrous, Afflicted dragons rot the land beneath their feet, their breaths leaking spores that take flight on the wind. Plaguebringer's newest creation, hosts that will spread her influence beyond her borders.

Afflicted dragons scales usually turn a feverish mix of colours, murky and clouded with rot. Their scales break out in harsh blisters which weep unknown pestilence. The sores itch and when the dragons scratch, their claws carry their sickness like a poison upon a sword. Every piece of them oozes plague, defiling everything they come into contact with. It is best to give these dragons a wide berth if spotted.
