Kael

Lead Archivist and curator.

Stoic, serious, and organized. Kael doesn't talk much, and usually sends a piercing stare towards any dragon instead. While this makes most uncomfortable, he doesn't actually mean to do that. Kael is just bad at talking, and is pretty hardened by his time in the Scarred Wasteland.

Kael used to be part of a group of both outsider dragons and Aberrations. They followed the "culture" of many of the Aberrations, going out to fight and returning to the cauldron. Kael's life was a constant battle; between the creatures and dragons he'd actually have to fight, and his mother, who expected way too much out of the young dragon. He developed his serious nature and piercing stare as a way to defend himself, hoping it would deter any dragon he encountered instead of having to fight.

Some days Kael would venture out on his own to look out at the rest of the lands (and come back with false stories of battles he wouldn't have). It was on one of these excursions where he met Narra. She'd been stopped by a few plague dragons, and it was Kael who drove them off. Kael would then usher Narra, despite her protests, out of the Scarred Wastelands. Unfortunately, nothing he did deterred her. He would have to usher her out several more times before she finally made him agree to take her sort of far in the wastes so she could see and attempt to recover some artifacts or items- anything she could put into her museum.

The two of them traveled over a day before they got into a scrap with other dragons and Kael dragged Narra back out again. Under the guise of making sure Narra didn't get into anymore trouble, Kael left his life behind and began traveling with Narra. The two of them developed a relationship throughout their travels, and Kael found a love for collecting and curating akin to Narra's.

He now spends his days managing the building of the museum and archives, as well as organizing the many items he and Narra's crew collected on their journey. Kael tends to hyper focus when he works (and hates distractions). He loves his work and has found a passion for it, but, has become sadder without the constant help from Narra (who has become busy managing the whole settlement). He still loves the time he can spend with her, and she still loves curating, so it does work out, even if it's hard at the moment.

He recently hired Agate to help him. She can be very day-dreamy and unfocused (which he doesn't like), but he still likes the company and she has been a great help.

He and Agate are training Banus. Kael is hard on Banus, but likes him. He's smart and attentive, he'll make a great curator.

About Vase: Vase is just a little guy Kael had stumbled upon in the Gladeveins. He'd heard of familiars before, but they were rare in the Scarred Wastelands. Soon as this little watcher stumbled across his feet he decided that this was his little guy. Vase doesn't seem to mind, and actually seems to enjoy seeing new things. Vase may not be the brightest bulb but Kael really enjoys his company. He even has a little scarf to carry Vase in, like a little baby.
