Biography

The Survivor Foxglove used to belong to a clan of the valley. They were a small happy clan that enjoyed agriculture and leisure. She had always been a daddy's girl. Her father, a pearlcatcher, had been a hunter and while scavenging the plentiful forests he found her egg and adopted her. During her hatchling years, she used to make him tell the story of finding her egg every night. Her father had always been such a good story teller and would put new twists on the well told tale; sometimes it was snowing, sometimes the Lightweaver's rays touched her egg. She was content with her simple, cozy life. Then, things went wrong. A sickness spread through the clan. While the ridgeback clan leader had been digging a series of underground tunnels, she found a subterranean waterfall that glowed with a mysterious light. Mistaking it for good, she allowed the villagers to drink from it. However, dragons quickly began getting sick after ingesting the spring water, becoming delirious with rage and lashing out violently. Foxglove's father was one of the fortunate to not taste the madness; Foxglove was not. During a particularly extreme fit her father made an attempt to calm her and was mortally wounded in the process. Once she had finally awoken from the delirium, she was horrified to see what she had done. Wracked with grief and the taste of mystic water still on her tongue, Foxglove became wild and uncontrollable. She fought, because she didn't know what else to do. She fought and fought and still the gnawing hole widened in her chest. The clan leader watched the perversion of her clan and soon felt a calling to the desecrated lands of rot far away, believing the Plaguelands to be the only place a cure could be found. Most were eager to follow but that was the final straw for Foxglove. She couldn't leave her father behind. And so, she watched as her clan left without her. Foxglove stayed in the abandoned clan territory for many months before a pack of bandits came looking for treasure. Instead they stole Foxglove away from her home and sold the screaming dragon for profit. She spent years in slavery, but her constant outbursts made her difficult to handle and she was resold often, never staying in one place too long. Many times she tried to brake away from the different dragons who called her their property, and each time she'd try to find her way back home only to find herself further from it. Eventually an elderly white coatl came across her at an auction, and helped stage a rescue mission for Foxglove and the other dragons for sale. Afterwards, the coatl offered Foxglove a place in her clan, known as the Semptimus Collective. Exhausted after years of having no home, she agreed to join. As the days pass Foxglove grows calmer. She doesn't trust easily, she cares even less, but with a familiar and safe atmosphere her rage has been cooling and her thoughts settling. She is even able to visit her father's grave whenever the clan passes through the area. It's a slow and difficult process, but she has come a long way. Maybe one day she will heal. Continue...? |
