-formerly a member of Plague military, but joined up with NC when he got the spiel, perhaps as some form of atonement or desire to do something for a greater good for once. Violently. Most people don't know more about him than that. He prefers it that way.

-nobody will sit with him in the cafeteria bc they’re pretty sure he’s committed moral atrocities, he makes them nervous and is a glaring reminder of NC drifting away from the purely scientific organization it began as

-he doesn’t deny this but insists the NC researchers don’t really have a moral high ground bc they’re all traitors- his prior actions would be celebrated as a hero by Plague dragons if he hadn’t joined NC, and his 'moral atrocities' never involved messing with the damn Shade

-most of his work for NC is confidential, with only the Council and Inner Sanctum Administration privy to the full details. Most of NC'S members recognize the necessity of keeping stuff classified to minimize the risk of information leaks now that they have nearly 400 members, but this instance specifically makes a lot of people nervous.

-coolly detached relationship with most of the researchers. they don't like him, and he's okay with that. He tends to come off as a bit aloof- they think he thinks he's better than them because they're ~just scientists~ and he doesn't respect anything other than force and violence. Let them think that. He could tell them that he's read almost every paper NC has published. But he won't. It doesn't matter to him. He has nothing to prove.

-between assignments, he's started teaching a self-defense course for the purely research-oriented members of the Inner Sanctum and any Vigilance residents who want to join. NC's existence is no longer completely secret and rumors of its existence have leaked out, but the outside world views them as a 'traitorous paramilitary mad-science Shade cult'. Atentat's logic is that since any Inner Sanctum operative is going to be treated as extremely dangerous enemy of the state if their allegiance is ever revealed, they might as well be able to defend themselves like one. Other than that, he's mostly solitary. People tend to avoid him anyway.

-Current assignment has him tracking down a dangerous Riftkind fugitive holed up in an abandoned factory construction site in Goldensparc, preferably alive but dead if necessary. The two of them have been playing a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in Goldensparc for weeks, communicating on occasion through scrawled graffiti and letters on old newspapers left where the other will find them. Except... trying halfheartedly to kill each other for weeks is something that can actually be so personal, and now Atentat isn't sure he could kill the Riftkind even if he had to.
-the gay tension between a shade alien and the guy assigned to hunt down and capture them dead or alive

Director Tureis' Notes - Atentat Has not revealed much about his time as a Plague exalt. Personally suspect him to be responsible for the mysterious deaths of several high-ranking Nature officials, but have no proof. Information about his past has been surprisingly difficult to dig up. Did find record of two children, now deceased. Doesn't question orders. Commits himself single-mindedly to a cause and then does whatever it requires of him. However, suspect his time in Plague military pushed him past his limit. Would not be a good idea to test this. Still uncertain why he deserted. This worries me. Suspect some kind of trauma, psychological damage. Refuses to see counselor or psychiatrist. Views work for NC as atonement for past sins. I'm confident in his loyalty, but increasingly worried about his long-term mental and emotional stability. May recall him to the Vigilance to recuperate and talk to Yellowstone after his current assignment is finished.
