Snakes flock to Shegu, and her magic allows for her to control them. She actually lives closer to the outskirts of Yangzhi Men near a place called "the snake mound." They are not very fond of visitors and tend to chase off visitors with their snakes. When she ventures into Yangzhi Men's main area, she keeps to herself, but interacts with the other magicians of Yangzhi Men; she finds them more worth her time than the citizens. The magician she is closest to is Wuya due to having similar magic; both of them are frequently seen chatting and gossiping together.

Shegu knows a lot about the going-ons in Yangzhi Men and beyond through their snakes; she likes to have them "spill the tea" for her.
