Lile’s first steps into the Archive were unremarkable ones. Ae looked high towards the arching ceiling, and, still marveling at the architecture around aer, began to back up, spinning slowly to take in everything.
It seemed incredible, as a dragon coming from the Sunbeam Ruins, that Shadow dragons could create such marvels despite all the terrible things they’re supposed to be. Then again, ae supposed, the Archive was far more than just Shadow dragons.
In this state of wonder is when ae comes face to face with someone; a smaller Banescale, with duller scales than aer, charcoal-black wings flaring as he starts, catching his balance.
“Oh, apologies!” Ae says breathlessly, “You’re not hurt, right?”
“No, not at all,” he replies, blinking at aer. “You’re new here too, aren’t you? My name’s Everrent.”
“Lile!” Ae replies, baring sharp teeth in a grin. “So we’re both from the Sunbeam Ruins?”
“I’m from the Ashfall Waste actually,” he replies apologetically, “my parents raised me there.”
“Oh! So you’ve seen our ancestral home?” Lile asks eagerly, “What was it like?”
Everrent tilts his head at aer, a slight grin on his face.
“Dusty.”
