A Gift from the Sea

- a retired longneck gladiator, (who is now a fisher man) was fishing of off the coast between Ashfall waste and Southern Icefield (were others with him?)
- as he was dragging up a net full of fish something on the water caught his eye
- it was a basket floating on the water
- it drifted towards him and he picked it up from the water and set it down on the deck
- he lifted the basket lid and saw that in there was a baby
- surprised, he looked around, how on Sornieth did a baby get here?!
- there in the distance a dark shape under the water barely a ripple, a glimpse of a fin maybe, but it was gone
- he pulled the child out of the basket and it opened its eyes and began to wail
- the child was unlike any creature he had seen before, it had the resemblance to a dragon of the tundra’s, the face, horns, and ears
- but its body was closer to his own in the sense that it was made for standing upright not on all fours
- and instead of hooves it had a hand with four digits and a thumb like those of serthis and centaurs
- feet?
- after searching for any signs of illness he found out that she was a healthy baby girl
- maybe she was a deformed dragon who parents had abandoned her?
- never the less he fell in love at the first movement he held her and was determined to look after her
- his theory would change as she grew tho, he began to think that she came from some where beyond Sornieth
- he took it back to the small fishing village where he lived.
- he lived in a hut with an old female tundra name Winterberry, he was a companion to her and had been by he side for many years
- her son, Lichen also lived with them
