Backstory:

Belle is a traveler, fleeing from an alternate universe that had been so ravaged by the Shade that not even the smallest of the bacteria and bugs survived.

Even the stars have fallen from the sky, lifeless and decaying, their gleam fading to near black and lightless
The dragons are dead too, but their strong magic manages to keep their minds alive within their corpses.
A Last blessing by the long dead Gods? No, non, no, a curse, so the Shade has something to toy with.
They are all starving and rotting, trying to patch themselves together with fabric and hide. They must search the ruins for anything that even vaguely resembles food.

But many of them are so wounded that they can't even eat.

With the world utterly gutted of hope, the dragons had one single idea on how to save themselves. Not the world, that was too far gone, but the dragons themselves. With the remaining magic left in their cadavers, the most powerful mages merged their bodies together to creature a portal to the nearest unharmed universe. The remaining dragons escaped into various versions

Belle is not any different then your average spiral from this universe, hyperactive and easily distracted. She gets lost easily, but luckily she has her root dweller, Bob, one of the last living things in her universe, to guild her along.

Belle's Super Secret Journal:

Entry 1: It looks like I got lost while chasing a flying fawn. To bad but I guess I'll start looking for places to stay till I can return? At least I have bob, the root dweller.

Entry 2: I chased a bug! I chased it all the way around Wind territory! How exciting to see so much wind energy and so many bugs. I wonder what it's like to see light energy everywhere. I found a mage school in the Cloudsong, and they talked to me about magic. They looked stunned when I told them where I came from and had little to say. I'm going to head out again. Maybe I'll see Light territory so I can see what light energy is like.
