Deep in a forgotten forest, half rusted and overgrown with moss, lay an old mechanical dragon. A former ride made for hatchlings to play on perhaps? The bells hanging from the dragon’s frayed and long unused bridle tinkled in the passing wind.

Was it one of Sornieth’s dragon deities who found him and was moved by the sight? Or merely passing fairies who wanted to play a prank? Perhaps the dragon would never know.

But one night, his eyes blinked open, the gears in his legs began to soften and move (were they still even there?) and he slowly and creakily stood up.
