The Thirty-Ninth Undead Angel - Karnael.

It was bound to happen eventually; the undead are unpredictable. His taste for blood was not immediately evident. Only after a particularly nasty wound left him bereft did his thirst surface. As long as he did not lose what thrummed through his veins, he had no need to replace it. His carers tried to keep him under their wings, bundled in fabrics and other frivolities. His teeth itched. There was no life for him there in the Crypt. The moment their backs were turned, he bolted. Pounding steps brought him to a strange storefront tucked away in a forgotten corner of his clan's territory. The proprietor watched him as he entered, eyes sharp as knives.
"Welcome," he crooned, "o shunned son of the forgotten."
Karnael crooked an eyebrow.
The shopkeep smiled. "You are an oddity among oddities. It was only a matter of time before you made your way to me."
Karnael made to speak, but the shopkeep shushed him.
"You're more than welcome to sate your hunger for battle here with me -- and drink deep thereafter."

When not working, he can be found in a particularly thick portion of the forest where brawlers congregate. His shadow is near ever-present over that haunt, waiting for the newest challenger to cross his path.

Role: The familiar of a former debtor, Svar bowed to Karnael's strength. He now accompanies his new master on his various errands and tracks the unlucky souls who have defaulted on their payments.

Tabèk -- The proprietor of the Gambler's Market. Karnael supposes he should at least make an effort to be grateful to the man. It was he who gave him leave to brawl and sup to his heart's content, after all. The work he provides isn't dull, even if the drink thereafter may be of questionable flavor. Poison can't kill him, so what does he care for taste?

Seda -- A Changeling bestowed upon a couple who could not handle her, Seda returned as a ward of the Gambler's Market mere months after her departure. Aloof and wary of eye contact, she handles the affairs of the back room. Karnael tries to steer clear of her and her eerie, pupil-less stare.

Lelianna -- A strange creature inhabiting the body of a deceased hatchling. According to Tabèk, she became a ward of the Gambler's Market after her 'mother' failed to make good on her debt. Karnael assumes she must have been the other type of customer. The sort Tabèk feels just bad enough for that he doesn't send fangs in the night to collect their payments.
