Biography
Suddenly an arrow whistled near him and he quickly runs away.
"Ah, not again... " said some clearly frustrated voice "I can't even count how many times I was this close!"
It was a young hunting apprentice, Herentals. This red-and-blue colored Wildclaw male is usually seen around in a small forest right under The Cloudsong, with his own-made bow, learning the hunting skills under the watchful eye of his mentor, Mubatelo. But not this time. This time Herentals was all alone, far away from the clan and his mentor, somewhere in The Viridian Labirynth. He wants to prove he's a worthy hunter...
Something rustled in the fallen autumn leaves... is that the deer he was trying to hunt? He had to find out! He went in the direction where he heard the noise.
And then he stopped, being clearly terrified when he saw a huge ball of feathers on two huge chicken legs... That's definitely not the deer.
That was a Basilisk! It seemed to be slightly taller than Herentals himself and was sleeping. Mubatelo told him many times that he should stay away from them, as they're dangerous for the beginner hunters. In the beginning, he wanted to stay away from the Basilisk, just like his mentor advised him but as soon as he spread out his rather not really big wings, he got an impulsive thought...
What if I'd try to fight the Basilisk instead?
Sure, Mubatelo would be extremely mad at him for his recklessness but Herentals at that moment thought only about the possible glory and respect he could get if he'd hunt a Basilisk. Now they all would finally know that he's a worthy hunter!
He carefully sneaked up on Basilisk but once he got very close, he stepped on a twig. Basilisk opened its bright yellow eye and quickly noticed the presence of young Wildclaw male. Herentals was absolutely terrified, to the point that his usual vibrant colors became as pale as snow. He realized that he made a huge mistake with even thinking about trying to hunt a Basilisk.
The beast stood up, showing their full sizes and roared deafeningly. The Basilisk was actually at least a few times bigger than Herentals.
