Biography
With Chocolate/Obsidian/Ruby as his colors, he, like his half-uncles Tenacity and Vitality, has the colors I wanted out of a breeding project that spanned four months, from early May of 2022 until September 11, 2022, the day he was born.
It started with 16 Gaolers, which I divided into eight pairs:
Aftermath and Andezo,
Decimius and Zenobia,
Brandeu and Malone,
Baelgun and Oratorio,
Wanderer and Yokobik,
Ulund and Pokoso,
Ilar and Defender,
Jason and Strawberry.
Their children formed four pairs:
Aftermath and Andezo's son Pippen and Zenobia and Brandeu's daughter Enakai,
Brandeu and Malone's son Rath and Baelgun and Oratorio's daughter Myiagros,
Wanderer and Yokobik's son Malzahar and Ulund and Pokoso's daughter Kimbry,
Ilar and Defender's son Rakgi and Jason and Strawberry's daughter Beryl.
Their children, in turned, formed two pairs:
Pippen and Enakai's son Geils and Rath and Myiagros's daughter Maelgad,
Malzahar and Kimbry's son Dolan and Rakgi and Beryl's daughter Savanna.
And finally, those became a single pair:
Geil and Maelgad's son Denethor and Dolan and Savanna's daughter Kaito.
Denethor and Kaito are the parents of this dragon, so he is the great-great-grandson of all sixteen of those starting dragons!
I already had a mate lined up for him from the NON-Gaoler half of my project, which I shouldn't have started to begin with, and now there are even more dragons who look just like him. There were NO Chocolate/Obsidian/Ruby Gaolers before I started this project. My dragon Henry was the first, and he wasn't born a Gaoler.
Five days before he was hatched, that is, the day that the egg from which he would be born was laid, his two half-uncles Vitality and Tenacity were born, and they are descended from eight of the original sixteen. I briefly considered continuing the project just to see if I could have a dragon who was descended from all sixteen, but I decided not to go through with it and chose to cancel the project. Then this dragon was born anyway. What can I do but accept my luck? I don't get much.
I have a hard time selling Henry's offspring, and his aren't much easier to sell. But that won't stop me. As long as I can continue playing this game, nothing will!
(I may change this guy's name. The idea is that he, Vitality, and Tenacity have names that came from the thesaurus when I looked up synonyms for strength, because I get a kick out of the serious-sounding nature of virtue names, but I don't know about this one.)
I don't spend a lot of time thinking about what may have happened to his descendants, but when someone tells me, for example, that they made one of his and Endurance's sons into Demoman from Team Fortress 2, well, it makes it feel a little more worth it to have done this project.
