Biography
He has the perfect colors for my Gaoler breeding project, but was not born a Gaoler himself. According to game lore, he still keeps his pearl around, which is nice. And yes, that means I spent 350kt and 1350g on him and Emily each to do their transformations. It took a while to save up, and maybe that money WOULD have been better spent on lair expansions, but it wasn't. It was spent on Henry and Emily.
Given to me, for free, by the one and only Vertigris, as Henry was a by-product of an attempt to breed for a chocolate/obsidian/crimson dragon. Henry here is very close, close enough to be perfect for me, and Verigris sent him my way. One of these days, I'll figure out a way to even out my karmic scales.
At the time of his birth, there were only two other unexalted dragons in the world with his colors, and he had only a 1/24 chance of being born with them, given who his parents were. They do not seem to be highly desired colors, but here I am, wanting them anyway. It's the world who is wrong, I say!
He is also, if you check, the oldest of all dragons, including exalted ones, who is a Gaoler with these colors. He wasn't born a Gaoler, though, so it's theoretically possible for one of the two other older dragons than him with these colors to make the change and dethrone him.
I doubt that they will, but one never knows.
The point is, Henry and Emily are a unique mated pair, and I am ruining their rarity by having them reproduce together. Oh, it's so delightfully twisted of me! I love taking things that are rare and making them commonplace! In my ideal world, every dragon would be special, making none of them special, and reducing the number of dragons who sell for hundreds of thousands of treasure or gems due to their rarity.
The logic of this particular breed/gene/color combination is that they make me think of the Brachypelma hamorii, or Mexican red-knee tarantula, which actually does exist in this very game. I'm disappointed at the lack of dragons who look like tarantulas, and I wanted there to be some. So I made my intention known to the world and then, with the help of many others, made it happen. That's what life's all about!!
And if you'd like to read about Henry's ancestry, I invite you to read the bios of his daughters Marigold (for the long version) and Lily (for some highlights).
Sometimes I level his kids to 25 to try to sell them for more. If they get bought by someone and put into a "fodder" tab, all I can do is sigh and laugh a little to myself and go back to training up the next one. If you wanna use your money that way, that's your call, bud!
