Aermia Wildclaw Matriarch Mate of Hesephe xxxxxxxxxxxxxPlaceholder xxxxxxxxxxxxPlaceholderrr xxxxxxxxxxPlaceholderrrrrrr xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Description
Aermia is the matriarch. Wildclaws are matriarchal as long as the dragon in the line of succession proves their strength. If a stronger Wildclaw challenges the leader and manages to win, they take the position and a new line begins |
Story
Born to a coatl and wildclaw in a tribe dominated by mostly wildclaw pairs, Aermia was of low standing before she began challenging her peers. She beat the wildclaws her age and moved onto her older peers. They ruthlessly held her back from gaining any more status.
But it would not be for long.
Her mother came from a long line of Matriarchs but still took a coatl as a mate. Aermia believes her mother took a step down in status to make a coatl her mate.
She thinks there must be something about coatl that some wildclaws find worthy. To make them worth being seen as weaker. That may be for the coatl’s ability to broker peace but also for their temper and ferocity when protecting their own.
Perhaps her patrilineal line, full of coatls, was not as weak as wildclaws usually think.. Thus must be the reason for her strength.
Aermia flew past the ranks in her tribe, but stopped when it came to challenging the last few left before the Matriarch herself.
She left to find a mate, as she must have one before becoming the new Matriarch. She had long heard of the champion of the Coliseum, Hesephe. And the rumor was that he had stepped down to find a mate.
She came to him, described to him her dream of taking over her tribe. And she challenged him after watching wildclaw after wildclaw fail to win against him and make him their mate. Her battle with him was the hardest she’d ever fought till then, and nearly didn’t win.
He was impressed with her after she had beaten him. How could he not have been? The only dragon to best him in very many years.
He became her mate and she quickly made moves to return home with him, to challenge every dragon standing in her way.
When she won the final challenge and became the new Matriarch, she moved the tribe to the Windswept Plateau. She negotiated with Sormise of Clan Zeasiel, who guarded the territory she wanted her tribe to make their home in.
Sormise allowed them to stay because the tribe would greatly expand his territory, making more room for his growing clan.
The tribe would leave in the summer to live as nomadic hunters across the windswept plateau and return to raise their young as the seasons turned chiller.
He would also not have a hand in leading them, acting only as an ally to the wildclaws.
