the wise healer (he/they)
his face is worn with age and tiredness, but kind. he smells strongly of herbs, the kinds used for healing and calming. between his talons, a young pearlcatcher is curled in fear and pain, fresh wounds across his face. also nearby is a young skydancer, fretting over her injured friend as lavandula treats his injuries. off to one side, his partner, a massive obelisk, speaks to a battle-scarred ridgeback, also bearing signs of a recent battle, but treating them herself.
lavandula treats the pearlcatcher's wounds with ease, his movements delicate despite his much greater size. then he guides the dragon to a hastily-constructed shelter nearby, leaving him safely inside, before turning to speak with the skydancer. he asks what happened, and she replies she doesn't know. just that they had been out looking for his sister after hiring the ridgeback for help, and that they were attacked by something none of them could get a solid look at. they managed to fend it off, but barely. and now, she doesn't know what to do. her friend, who not even a day ago had been a prince, will no longer have that power without his pearl. no home and no closure.
lavandula speaks a few words of comfort to her, and then tells her to go be with her friend. he needs her right now. then he approaches taiga and the ridgeback, to discuss what happened with them and to make sure the ridgeback, tough as she looks, doesn't need his help.
