Kanna Yuuki. She’s a wife and mother to three Space Defense Force members who have made their mark on the galaxy. Her husband and two sons have served or are serving in the SDF, and by doing so, have made the Yuuki’s SDF legends. However, being a wife and mother to three members of the most elite and dangerous military organization in the galaxy isn’t for the faint of heart. Her heart has been irreparably torn in two places, and the one piece she has left she tries to keep close to her, but she has to let that piece go make his mark on the universe. Her husband, Wataru Yuuki was the former captain of the Sirius Platoon. He was also the father to their two boys, Mamoru and Manabu. He was often gone for months at a time, but always made time for his boys and Kanna when he was home. The last time she saw him alive he gave her a simple necklace that was an early birthday gift. Wataru sacrificed his life that night to save an entire train full of people and his sons from an alien destroyer, by ramming Big One right into it. It caused Kanna a lost of grief when she was told the news. However, her heartache doesn’t end there. |
Her oldest son Mamoru would follow in his father’s footsteps four years later. He told his mother that this is what he wanted to do, and it’s what his brother would do too. Sadly, even more grief was dealt to this family when she and Manabu got a phone call a year later saying that Mamoru was killed in the line of duty. He was later buried on his home planet of Tabito, meaning that his grieving mother and brother would have seen his body. All Kanna wanted to do now was to never let her youngest son and last living family member go. Her oldest son Manabu got his acceptance letter five years after Mamoru’s death, and ten years after his father’s. She was understandably upset with him, I mean who wouldn’t be. She’d already lost her husband and oldest son to this dangerous job. She didn’t want to loose Manabu. She looked to the stars and told her her husband’s departed soul and asked what she should do, for Manabu was exactly like his father. Manabu left the next day, bidding farewell to his mother and promising to visit soon. Kanna let her son go, not knowing that he would someday help save the universe. |
