 Male lions usually survey the territory of the pack and protect it from outsiders while female lions hunt. Despite this, males tend to eat first. Their roars can be heard over five miles away (im american i dont know what a kilometer is /j)

Lions are considered hypercarnivores, meaning that almost all (70%) of their diet consists of meat. They prefer larger prey such as zebra, gazelle, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, gemsbok, and warthog but sometimes they'll eat smaller things like lizards or birds. They can eat between 10 and 20 pounds of food each day.
