When Valentine returned from his delivery one day, he still carried cargo with him. Two young hatchlings - twins, a brother and sister. Promise immediately cradled them close and they happily burrowed their noses into her mane. Questions tumbled out of her before Valentine even had a chance to respond to one. But he knew them well enough to give the most important information first.

"They're ours, if you want."

It wasn't even a question, of course they wanted to raise these babies. Valentine also knew them well enough to get how important it was to keep these siblings together. Promise had been rescued with their brother, and it had been a great comfort to them to retain a connection to a blood relation, and to not feel different in a new place. They didn't look remotely similar now. When Promise had sought out Sodalite to help them feel more comfortable in their own body, Portent came with them for support but ended up undergoing changes of his own.

But these children, despite the differences in their breeds, were remarkably similar. Beautiful green blotches against their dark scales, large emerald eyes, long wriggly bodies. Promise adored them already.
