Lupus

Deep within the woods of the corrupted forest a shrieking howl stirs the trees, rustling their silhouettes against the light of the waking moon.

Crunching of leaves gets closer, faster and louder until four pairs of starlit eyes and bloody maws stride through the treeline. With a hungry gaze staring down over the unfortunate traveller to meet in it in its path many voices strain to ask, "why is this small thing so deep within the woods. Poor unfortunate soul."

With a wavering voice the traveller pleads its reasons for journeying too far. However no matter of merciful murmurs would satisfy the creature. "No, no NO! the lost never return from here, poor poor soul."

Teeth snapping and maws clenching a chorus of voices strain as they circle their pray, "Lead them!, Eat them! Carry them! Take them!" A hooked claw grasps at them, lifting them by their tattered cloak into the moonlight. "Such a small thing, would be so easy to snatch you up and have you lost forever." It's eyes bright lock on and with many a toothy smile it places the traveller into it's back. "You are a lucky one tonight, we only hunt under the full moon."

A moments silence and a sigh of relief breaks the cool air.

Leaning down the creature braces itself and pushes forward. Proud padded footsteps leap through the trees and pass through the hallowed mist, huge cape like wings propel them forwards, giving a raucous cackle as they go. Through the mouths and teeth the creature takes a caring gaze back. Amused to be on the charitable side of events for once. Many voices do make for an interesting opinion after all. "Poor poor soul, you will have to live another day."
