"Oh? Tis but a scratch, is it? Your whole left leg and arm is gone, half your right leg is gone, AND you're blind and deaf in one ear from that explosion. It's not a scratch!"

She works as one of few healers for those in battle. Rubies tries her best but sometimes she slips up, however, the other healers help her when she does. She may not be the best healer in the world but she's learning. Using anything thats got a red hue that has been known to help with healing, she tends to make a mess of them. "I like anything that's red to be completely honest. Though I do still want to help, I need to stop wanting to make messes using the red plants. I do like other colors, red's just my ultimate favorite color." Whenever someone needs a cast for a broken limb, she lets them choose what color medical wrap they want. "Even if I personally want red for them, I know they have different favorite colors. When one of the elders come in for a small fracture, and to choose their own color wrap, they tell me a different story of when they were younger."
Rubies loves stories from the elders, as well as stories from the younger generations. "Sure, the younger generations from the elders have different stories but I love hearing stuff from the past while I help heal them in any way I'm able to." Whenever someone asks if she has any stories of her own, she declines to tell any, unless it's to make up stories for the children. In her opinion, her life is quite boring. From being raised in her home town to coming here and set up residence, nothing special really happened. Though her parents are owners of the Cauldron Cavern, she doesn't think it's enough to consider her special. She's also the youngest of the children, as of right now.

"My parents were great, yes, but I thought I'd travel the world for a bit. Oceanside Port caught my eye for settling down though. It's such a cute little port town and I'd tell my parents and older siblings what a great life it is here but I know they're extremely busy to visit. I absolutely love working as one of the healers in the Infirmary, seeing as they're my chosen family here. They've helped me set up my place when they could, and seeing as my own family had their own lives, I didn't want to be much of a bother. When my friends' birthdays come around, I'll always treat them to various things like honey, going to Mystic Burst, going to the animal shelter and what not since I want them to know how deeply appreciated I am for them letting me into their circle."
Stories of home motivates her to do well for herself. Rubies can always rely on the help of her friends whenever she slips up here and there or when she's sick and can't do her job. When she's on her breaks, she likes going to the edges of the forests to look at the foliage. "When I see something one of my friends need for their ailments on the edge or in the tree line, I'd ask the wood keepers if I could take a little bit back for them. It may not be much but at least they'd get some and the plants will still be plentiful for the pollinators to go to." |
