all-powerful & menacing
In all my time cataloging those who come and go through the Tangled Wood, I have never before seen a creature like…this one. Nobody knows where it came from or how it appeared in the Stronghold undetected. All that anybody knows is that it’s small, furry, and emits a very powerful energy. The strange aura of menace that surrounded the creature wasn’t enough to deter the naturally carnivorous dragons in the Stronghold from trying to make a meal of it. Strangest thing was, anybody who tried returned from their endeavor with a look of terror across their face, sometimes with strange curses clinging to their scales, like ones that put them to sleep for a full 24 hours or set their tails briefly on fire. If anybody was ever successful in snacking on the thing, it simply turned up the next day completely unharmed as if nothing happened.

This strangeness, and the fear of having some strange dark magic cast upon the dragons who live there, has resulted in the creature being able to make its home safely within the Stronghold’s walls. The creature has been named Buttons by Kila and Laci, two of the animal caretakers residing in the clan, and those two seem to be the only ones either oblivious or uncaring of the power that Buttons holds. They treat him the same as any other simple pet, much to the unease of everybody else.

The beast seems to be content with his life for now, but everybody should be very careful in his presence. There’s no telling what Buttons is capable of.

(Buttons is a guinea pig that lives in the Stronghold after appearing mysteriously one day without explanation. He has incredible magic power and seems to be immortal, to the point where many members of the clan give him a wide berth, lest they become the victim of his immensely powerful spells.
