BIOGRAPHY
It is difficult to imagine a sight more dismal than a Skydancer permanently grounded, never again to return to the skies. Such is the case for Williwaw, a pitiful excuse for what remains of a dragon. Though he hides much of his scarred body, one can't help but be sickened by his disfigurement - melted flesh covers what once was green feathers, and a mangled stump replaces what once was a wing. He drags his feeble body low to the ground, using his remaining sight to constantly watch for danger, eyes flitting back and forth nervously, even in the face of no discernable threats. A drifter, Williwaw prefers not to discuss what he's done or where he's been, and gets rather uncomfortable and jittery when one pushes the subject. He's notably uncomfortable and jittery in general, always overly anxious and in fear of most things, namely other dragons. Williwaw will bend to any dragon whose will conquers his own - which in his case, encompasses nearly everyone. A follower and victim to peer pressure, he goes along with the crowd regardless of his own opinions, too cowardly to stick up for himself. Despite his lack of a backbone, Williwaw is not a cruel individual, and attempts to bridge friendships between himself and other dragons wherever he goes. His Skydancer abilities allow him to sense those who are troubled - and he is drawn to them, often trying to befriend them and assist with their problems. In truth, his helpful nature is not done out of pure generosity - instead driven by his own self-loathing, as doing good deeds makes Williwaw feel better about himself. Williwaw appears to lack talent in most areas, performing lower than average in most tasks - whether this be due to a lack of skill, or a lack of effort is yet to be distinguished. Despite this, he manages to get by, to the surprise of those that know him. |
BIOGRAPHY
Williwaw's history - and the origin of his gruesome disfigurements - remain a mystery to the members of Sundry's Refuge. However, it's clear Williwaw doesn't like to talk about it. He prefers to wear hooded clothing to cover his scarring - he's ashamed of his wounds, and has to frequently replace the rancid bandages that cover his chest. Some days are worse for him than others; sometimes the Skydancer can hardly hobble across the ground. An acute ear could hear him lamenting under his breath about how this is what he deserves; attempts to comfort the Skydancer only seem to make him feel worse. Williwaw often stares wistfully at Lylum when he thinks no one is watching, and the expression on his gaunt face can only be described as pure agony. The young, brash Banescale seems to remind him of someone from his past... When Willi initially limped into town, many of the town's residents assumed his wounds were recent; Williwaw couldn't bring himself to protest when he was led to Scala. The Fae did all she could, and carefully re-bandaged his limp wing; Williwaw's own handiwork was less than ideal. Willi appreciated the attention, and remorsefully accepted a home in the Refuge when it was offered. Now, he works as a farmhand for Chamomile; his work is quiet and peaceful, and most days are fairly easy. Chamomile makes sure Willi is taken care of and doesn't push him when the Skydancer inevitably has difficulty harvesting crops. Williwaw simply plants seeds in the morning and retires to his cabin; he doesn't have the energy for much else. |
