BIOGRAPHY
Strong-willed and somber, Baphos has little tolerance for mistakes and acts as the Caravan's primary protector. Her watchful eye and pinpoint accuracy with her crossbow have made her a strong deterrent towards any highwaymen setting their eyes on the Peddlers' goods. She has little tolerance for nonsense, and does not have the same charismatic social skills as her brother. She is highly intelligent and isn't socially inept, but she can be rather blunt and doesn't see the value in honeyed words and persuasive tones. To Baphos, her brother's practices are certainly effective at moving goods, but she doesn't consider them very respectable. Despite her imposing presence and willingness to fight at a moment's notice, Baphos is usually fairly gentle and soft-spoken. She doesn't mind the company of others, provided they don't irritate her, and she tends to be harder on herself than she is on other dragons. Still, she puts a lot of value on working hard and always improving, and doesn't usually get along with those with a more cavalier mentality. She doesn't talk much in the Refuge, and others don't really approach her. To most dragons, her resting face appears stern and vengeful, and she tends to keep to herself. However, she enjoys the company of Krunk, and she secretly admires the young Coatl's high energy and drive to study her craft. |
BIOGRAPHY
Growing up, Baphos quickly realized that Empyrus, her twin, received a lot more attention than she did. She didn't begrudge him for it, and they were actually quite close as children. She'd never admit it, but Baphos frequently finds herself wishing Empyrus had chosen a different path instead of following exactly what their family wanted him to do. She was never rebellious, but after her family failed to recognize her individual talents over her brother's time and time again, she quickly grew independent from them. Empyrus was always the golden child, and even though she still loves him, she can't help but feel like she always had to work harder than he did. She sticks around working for the caravan primarily for her brother. Baphos knows that with her keen eye and combat skills, she could do far better in numerous other jobs across Sornieth. Still, she senses her twin's numerous attempts to reconnect with her, and she genuinely believes that under his bratty exterior Empyrus is still the dragon she remembers from their childhood. She tries, but even on the best days her brother's constant hailstorm of complaints frustrates her, and she often contemplates what he could possibly have to be annoyed about. |
