BIOGRAPHY
Burke is a Tundra dragon with a simple way of viewing the world. While Drogwen is the leader of the Refuge, Burke is the dragon who founded it with her, and acts as the clan's backbone. His calm, friendly demeanor and good judge of character make him a perfect ambassador and mediator. If Burke has a bad feeling about a prospective clan member, his gut feeling is almost always correct. He has a peaceful aura about him and is excellent at defusing tension. However, his lack of tact and inability to lie make him a poor fit for social politics. Besides his interpersonal duties, Burke is friends with many in the clan, and enjoys the company of others. He is entirely used to spending every minute of every day around dragons that he knows well, and prolonged periods of isolation are difficult for him. Burke is not exactly one to initiate a conversation, but prefers to keep those he cares for close. He is particularly close with Drogwen; he respects and admires her immensely. Like many Tundras, Burke's visual memory is less than stellar, but his ability to literally sniff out threats, along with his innate perceptiveness, make him an excellent right-hand to Drogwen. |
BIOGRAPHY
Despite his slow, even speech and placid demeanor, it would be unwise to assume Burke is unintelligent. He is excellent at quick problem-solving, and his knowledge of magical spells is quite advanced. Burke doubles as a fantastic teacher for the Refuge's prospective mages; he enjoys sharing his wisdom with others, and his use of Light magic to solve odd problems around the Refuge is often quite creative. He enjoys the company of dragons like Acedia and Scala, and even Roarke enjoys his company. However, he particularly likes when Krunk passes through town. The two share a passion for magical spells, and Krunk's chaotic, no-frills attitude make them something of a devious duo. Burke regards Krunk as something of a younger sister, and the two are surprisingly close. However, he is made visibly uncomfortable in the presence of Yanya. Something about the strange Ridgeback's smell makes him... queasy. Burke also owns an Albino Basilisk named Jeuffre; he 'rescued' the creature from a clutch of eggs brought back to the Refuge. The rest of the eggs were the next day's breakfast, but Burke was none the wiser, and regards Jeuffre as his beloved pet. The tiny chick was quickly outfitted with a visor; this both prevents the effects of its paralytic gaze and calms it from its frequent rampages. Jeuffre is very sweet around Burke, having imprinted on him, but is an absolute menace as soon as he leaves the room. As such, Burke tries to keep him close, and they go almost everywhere together. When he has to travel alone, Burke runs his paws through Jeuffre's feathers until he falls asleep, covering him with an enchanted blanket to keep Jeuffre asleep while he's gone. However, Burke is averse to the idea of a cage, and sometimes the Basilisk escapes his lair and causes mayhem while he's gone. |
