Biography

Signy
The First Gatoeidís
The cold is all Signy has ever known, from the moment she hatched to the present. Her thick white fur has always been a blessing in a way, but she knows that it is not the true blessing bestowed on her by Icewarden

King of the Plains
Glittering Bluesilver Torc
Dried Flowers
The morning of her first solo hunt, Signy was filled to the brim with excitement. Today was her rite of passage, the day she officially became an adult and earned her braids. The clan elders would send her off to find and recapture a shade creature they'd been keeping just for her. Nothing she wouldn't be able to handle on her own of course, but still strong enough she'd be able to prove herself.

With the Blessing of the elders and wishes of good luck from her mother and older siblings, she set out, charging off into the snowy plains. As the afternoon rolled around, she had yet to find any solid traces of the creature in the expected places. Strange, but not unheard of, some shade creatures were smarter than others. She decided to head for the cliffs on the edge of the territory, hoping to find a burrow of some kind there, or at least get a higher vantage point. As she reached the cliffs, she slowed to a confused halt. Something was very wrong.

The Joy and excitement she'd felt at the start of her test drained, pulled into the icy snow as if warmth from her body. The snowy cliffs on the edge of her clan's territory that she'd come to know through her years of training were pitch black. as she hesitantly stepped closer, she realized it was shade-blight. But shade blight this severe couldn't possibly be caused by a rite of passage shade creature. No, something this severe should be locked away in The Fortress of Ends!
This could only mean one thing; The test-day creature found and awakened a much more powerful shade being that had been slumbering in the ice for generations. This was not something she could take on her own, she had to return to her clan and warn the elders to assemble the hunters! She had to go NOW! Turning to leave, that's when she saw something that made her blood run cold. She'd been so focused on the side of the cliff, she hadn't realized that the blight trailed off from the mass on the cliff. And it lead back towards her clan

Signy ran. Faster than she'd ever run before, hoping and praying to Icewarden that she'd make it in time. Every step she took seemed to only reveal endless blight before her. The full moon had risen as she reached her clan's village to find carnage. Everything, everyone, nothing was spared from the mindless wrath of the shade-being. Shattered buildings and broken bodies lay around her, covered in blood and blight

Running through the village, she tried to find anyone, ANYONE still alive, only to find nothing. Anyone left was already corrupted into shade beings themselves. So she did what she could for the dead, and did her best to use her ice magic to contain any remaining shade creatures she found. Once she was finished, she left for the nearest clan she knew of to warn them of the coming danger, and to seek refuge, praying next time she'd be strong enough to stop something like this
Ice Runestone
Broken Wagon Wheel
Incognizable Paper Statement
Flamerest Embers
Cracked Blackened Ribcage
Chipped Blackened Legbones
The next full moon, she found herself waking to a change. Her sense of smell and sight were clearer, sharper. Her fur was softer, thicker, and speckled with rosettes. Summoning up a mirror of ice with her magic, she saw that she'd taken the form of a giant snow leopard. She felt strength flowing through her body unlike anything she'd ever felt before.

She didn't have long to marvel, however, as cries of alarm began to rise throughout the clan. Instinct told her the shade creature had returned, but she was ready this time. Ice Warden had granted strength she'd not had before, and she fully intended to use it. She wouldn't let the tragedy of her birth clan repeat itself

Signy bolted out of her home, following the sound of fighting where she knew the creature would be.
