antoine

antoine was quite a spoiled child. he was raised in the sheltered primness of nobility. the son of a baron. needless to say, when he was finally allowed to roam amidst the world of the common folk, his perception of reality shattered around him. he witnessed the poor begging for even one piece of treasure. a frail adolescent skydancer being bullied by a bunch of snappers. a ridgeback mugging a veilspun. the dirty underbelly of society was revolting to antoine. he never felt so outcasted in his life.
so, he decided there needed to be a change. he demanded of his father that something be done about the mass poverty and cruelty that flourished around him. the baron laughed at his request, shooting him off to go watch the theater. despite antoine's constant insistence, the baron would never stoop to the peasants' level and help those below him.
eventually, antoine's pleas got on his father's nerves. he was ordered to be kicked out among the streets, never to return to his esteemed mansion again. antoine was left alone, and he had to adapt quickly in order to survive.
through many months of travelling and stealing food from the rich, antoine eventually wandered his way into the territory of the ronin. one of the ronin scouts recognized antoine as the son of an esteemed baron, and captured him for questioning. once aware of antoine's treatment and situation, however, the ronin began to treat antoine more kindly. antoine was invited to live with the ronin and see if he'd like to stay forever. and so, he did.
though still having somewhat of a dignified stature, antoine was very humbled from the circumstances that befell him. he always makes sure that his fellow ronin have plenty of food and secure shelter to help them thrive. he strives to do what his father could not, even if he had no noble authority amidst the ronin. his clansmen greatly appreciate his kindheartedness, and often invite antoine to many feasts in honor of his generosity.
