Auriferous is very much submissive to this Twin Gods. Like any other, one of billions of disciples that aimlessly follow the Twins for whatever reason that should benefit them. For Auriferous, it comes down to a similar cognition to Eros- loving the feeling of having someone reliable to believe in, a truly powerful set of twins that won't vanquish under petty fires like most other former bandit leaders before them. Gods that were REAL not left up to the faith of mind, which usually turns out to be in utter vain, much to no one's amazement. Of course, Auriferous had low hopes and expectations for The Twin Gods Tyreen and Troy; even if they were sirens, they could still be easily poached by those who fear, envious or enraged by the mere sight of a siren or triton. But as many moons passed the Calypso Twins grew stronger, ruthless and godly; earning the trust and respect of Auriferous over the years. Though the Calypsos had unintentionally proved themselves to The Gilded, he rarely referred to them as 'Gods', preferring to call them by the twin's other titles that didn't interfere with his own bleak beliefs on the subjects of cults that masked themselves as family, usually saving the latter for "Important rituals"; . Auriferous does work with the Children of the Vault but holds his malicious compliance in exchange for his work as well as the other benefits that come with being in the 'family'. After all, Auriferous had no one else before they came along. As well as being his first family, in a sense... In his words, "it feels amusingly... warm. Or it could be the sun? Who's to say..." All in all, he is a bit too complex and archaic for the Twin God's likings, generally keeping their distance from him unless a momentous ritual is in need. -'Auriferous recalled the splitting of the Calypso Twin's soul, the pale look of their eyes as the golden priest ripped out a small fraction of their being; carefully conducting it into the twin's chosen subjects- Amaro and Suhail. It was a fleeting memory that he held onto dearly. After all it was a dire moment, and his 'debut' to the Twin Gods; given it wasn't an easy ritual at all. No wonder why the twins were desperate to find someone knowledgeable in that field. Although sometimes he wondered why someone would curse themselves with partial "immortality" as the Calypsos called it, they would still age, still feel pain and suffer from sickness like any other. All it took was someone to slay the Twin God's vessel to drag the them down to simple mortality-' |
