Nova

Adopted into the clan at a young age, she doesn't remember much of her life with her birth family. She was laid and hatched shortly after the Obelisk species were freed from the underground. They were together, travelling through the Wind nation from Nature, and then they were separated.

She remembers strong winds, heavy rain, and deafening thunder. She remembers being lost.

The hatchling spent days wandering, trying to find her parents, or anyone. Finally, she collapsed in a cluster of bamboo, seeking shelter from the storm but too exhausted to move.

Soon after, she found herself enveloped by warm gold scales and soft green wings.

Kaitoke, who she would come to see as a mother, had found her outside. She had been passing through on her journey to find a Charge, and found one in Nova.

She took Nova inside, drying her off and feeding her, holding her close while she slept and nursing her back to health from the starvation and sickness she had experienced. As Nova grew, Kaitoke stayed by her side. She was the one who named Nova, and was there for all the milestones a mother would be. Her first words, her first flight, teaching her to read and fight and hunt.

Similarly, she found a father figure in Mycena. As a tiny hatchling, she didn't know the reputation Mirrors had as one of the more savage species. She took to him quickly as well, as he cared for her alongside Kaitoke.

He took her on flights and night hunts, sang her lullabies and silly songs, and taught her how to draw. She took to the hobby just as he did, and the den was full of her artwork.

Nova grew up safe and loved by her adoptive parents, but has always carried some sense of regret for the birth parents she could have known...
