Duskfall (WIP)Under construction...
Duskfall is a community nestled within the shadows of the Tangled Wood.
The dragons of Duskfall spend most of their lives in the dark. Everything in their community is designed to be used with limited to no sight. Blind members of their community face little difficulty living alongside sighted neighbors. Some dragons with a long line of descendants in the Tangled Wood have evolved primitive echolocation, which seems to improve with successive generations.
While they do have a collection of braille scrolls, and a very few with words printed in ink, most of their tradition is oral. They pass down history and knowledge primarily by story and song.
Community is the cornerstone of their existence. All dragons in a village help teach and raise dragonets. Food is freely shared by those who can hunt to those who can't. While their low-light environment isn't ideal for most plant growth, native plant food is carefully cultivated for those dragons who can't eat meat, or bought when traders come to town monthly. It isn't uncommon to see friends or families groom each other's scales, fur, or feathers as a casual bonding activity.
While some dragons pair off with monogamous mates for life, committed and casual polyamory is widespread and viewed as normal. The last day of each month, an open breeding night is held.
Duskfall is home to a variety of religions, but the primary culture surrounds nature worship and benevolent witchcraft.
