Biography
Named for the salamander-like familiars produced by alchemy. Slarg's origins are unknown, though it is speculated that they were once a worker who fell into one of the industrial-sized cauldrons there and mutated. Borderline feral, perhaps due to the incident which created them, Slarg behaves more like a wild animal than a dragon. They appear to be incapable of complex speech, communicating only in low growls and hisses. Despite their animalistic behavior, Slarg is considered nonthreatening and is more cautiously curious than aggressive.
Slarg lurks in the complex water system of Shifting Expanse, swimming within the vast pipes and resting at the warm release vents of the nuclear reactors. Their saliva is highly corrosive, especially towards the metals that comprise most of their diet. They are a bit of nuisance as a result and have melted many pipes, drain covers, and other metal structures. However, removal and relocation has been deemed impossible due to Slarg's natural bulk and immunity to sedatives. In fact, their presence could be considered beneficial despite the havoc they cause. Slarg has been found to absorb--with no harm to themselves--many of the toxic compounds and heavy metal byproducts that leak into the Shifting Expanse's waterways.
Their body secretes a faintly glowing substance whose composition resembles green goo, ooze, or sludge depending on Slarg's most recent diet. The mechanism by which this occurs is unknown, and attempts to study or utilize this property have proved futile.
