Born blind and frail and a runt, Gaea had a difficult life the moment he hatched. With winter approaching he had to be abandoned for the survival of his siblings. Being left for dead, he found himself being attacked by wild animals and being scarred. But in the ruckus a group of traveling hunters found Gaea and took him along with them to Driftwood Drags with them, where he was left to be treated. Soon a group of shadow dragons took him in.

With time, Gaea grew to live happily in his new family of shadow dragons, even being given a familiar to help him navigate his surroundings and was taught how to read Brail. But as he grew older began to experience strange burst of magic. Temporarily freezing time, seeing glimpses of the future and causing ice to burst from the ground. He began to slowly lose his sense of self and fell more and more into the madness his magical burst caused.


But then a Shadow priestess named "Dawn" came into his life and taught him how to somewhat control his abilities, allowing him to not have such violent outburst, becoming his main caregiver. But glimpses of a violent and terrible future still plague Gaea, and he is slowly starting to lose his soul due to the strain of these visions. But, perhaps there is hope for him through ancient tomes by a strange dragon named "Naomi".


The visions became too much, the magic of the arcanist causing painful visions. The clan moved to the sea, but this had a unforseen consequence. Gaea was no more. In his place was a young female dragon, a new dragon born where Gaea once was, with no memory of who she once was. The new magic of the Tidelord's domain and the sheer power Gaea once held combined turned Gaea into this dragon, Alpana. She has no attachment to her former self, nor does she have any special abilities, and now she seeks to live a normal life.
