In the center of Ridgeback culture is their concept of borrowing. Borrowing what is essential, and that which is desired, is the taught to Ridgeback hatchlings second only to flying. Sandstones are an integral part of the species’ resource procurement. Sandstones are the dragons responsible for siphoning water from the Sunbeam Ruins. With their massive size, the only way for them to blend in is their coloring. Sandstones, like their name, are colored like the rock and sand prevalent in the Shifting Expanse. This allows them to not be noticed often by overflying dragons while they borrow the liquid of life.

Sandstones revere the Stormcatcher more than most; he’s not only the Boss, but their Father, second only to the spirit of the Desert. Whether or not their lore of the Stormcatcher mating with the Dragon of the Desert, leading to the creation of the Flints and Sandstones, is true or not has yet to be proven. More important work there is to be done.
