Ain Dancer | kind * shy * passive ~”My pleasure.” Ain is the son of Rod and Chiyo, and fundamentally different from his father and brother. He is shy, extremely polite and soft spoken. Kin sees the hatchling will need an entirely different environment to reach all of the potential she sees in him. So she sends him to Duke. Ain grows to love the special Ain-only stories Duke tells him before sleep, and in time Duke as well. Through Ain Duke can finally explore his passion for growing things, and flowers, because Ain has the fine dexterity needed to handle the delicate plants. He collects special flowers for Duke, and easily twines them into something that can be worn. The mouth of their cave becomes a riot of nature. For this -and much more- Duke grows to love him more as just a charge as the years pass and Ain grows into the full potential Kin was wishing for. When Duke finally brings himself to express his feelings through one last special story, Ain tells him he already knows. In the end Ain grows to be a somewhat serious but genuinely kind dragon, who sweeps all the lady dragons off their feet without meaning to. Rod is ever so proud, and is absolutely convinced it's because Ain is his daddy's son and a total ladies man. (everybody knows better, Duke rolls his eyes a lot and threatens to sit on Rod SO HELP HIM YOU ABSOLUTE BLITHERING LIZARD) As a hatchling Ain could be seen trotting behind Duke apologising a lot whenever his father Rod crashes through the tranquil atmosphere and sends Duke's shimmering ire into a full-blown fit of roaring. Usually these visits are accompanied with Ain's soft: "I'm sorry sir Duke, I'm sorry, don't mind my dad, I'm sorry-" as a mantra, to the Clan's everlasting amusement. Ain does love his father a lot, and cried inconsolably that first night. Despite their differences, Ain would always desperately count the days until he saw his father again. Their favorite past time together is dancing. Being of the royal family, he was accompanied by Quartz, a knight also hailing from the Snow Crystal Clan. He was her protégé and she will do anything to protect him --die, if need be. Her zealous loyalty makes Ain slightly uncomfortable. Notes: -Ain absolutely adores his father, Rod, and the two of them dance together whenever the latter visits. -Mate: Duke -Name origin: means priceless -(received from lemonsdrops) |
