Shianzar

Shianzar had a bad childhood growing up in one of the roving packs of the Abiding Boneyard; now he just wants to be left alone to hate the gods in peace, but his psychological and moral issues just cause him more pain. He feels some drive to help people who would die otherwise but that doesn't stop him hating the people for needing his help. And hating himself for helping them.

Some of the things he says about the gods may have merit, but his antisocial behaviour and general irrationality causes others to react towards him badly. Tenora especially cannot stand him, mostly for the way he treated Jiira after she hatched. His guardian Derianda would like to help him, but he doesn't want the help. (Dorian would be totally willing to have a philosophical discussion with Shianzar about his opinions, but the Mirror is far too irrational and angry to take that as anything other than an attack)

He does care for Marita, the Light Tundra whose egg he found. Derianda hopes that Marita's presence will do him some good, but it is unclear as to whether he will look after the child or mistreat her in some bizarre attempt to show her what he thinks the world is like.

Shianzar's familiar is a Paradise Zalis that showed up after he agreed to return to the clan for Marita's sake. He hopes that if he ignores it, it might go away. The Zalis itself may have confused Shianzar for one of its own species.

Ever been constantly angry for no good reason? I have, and it really really sucks. It's easy to judge Shianzar as bad, but honestly the correct response is pity. He can't think straight because his brain is constantly screaming at him. Someone get this poor boy medication; it's certainly the only reason I'm not cursed to be like him all the time ...
