That empty and familiar ache of existence that can only be found in solitude; a dream of a long lost garden that feels familiar but has begun to fade from memory, blurring at the soft edges and slipping away, though the faint comfort still remains. So in love with life, even as it becomes too wearying and agonizing to bear— what a tragedy to long for a world indifferent to your being, that turns away from the sun as every day bleeds into the next, fatiguingly similar, until you cannot remember where one ends and the other begins. Oh, how I yearn for the days past and so long ago they do not feel as if it were truly I who lived them, but some carefree creature I would not recognize in a mirror of the self. The haze gathers and settles, an early morning fog over my mind, and I am gone again, drifting someplace that is nowhere and everywhere. I do not feel real, and in the fleeting moments I am, the looming sorrow grows, for I know it will not last long before I am swept away again into that blurring garden. I close my eyes to the music floating on the breeze and surrender to the currents of time; perhaps, when I awaken from the dream…
