PERSONALITY If you asked someone to describe Hail in one word, they would most likely say "cold." She, for the most part, remains in her den, rarely emerging on her own. Her family normally needs to drag her out to get fresh air, and at this point nobody would be surprised if she was a vampire. Even when she is out and about, Hail pretty much never socializes, and she doesn't really have any friends. She doesn't speak much, and when she does it's blunt and to the point, completely disregarding most social etiquette unless it's completely necessary. Despite Hail's apparent apathy, the skydancer has a surprisingly good grasp on the emotions of others. She knows what someone is feeling, and she knows exactly what to do to use those emotions to get things to work out how she wants them to. It's useful, given how she genuinely wants the best for the clan, but it has escaped nobody's attention how that ability could be used in somewhat terrifying ways. HISTORY From a young age, Hail was fascinated by adventure. The idea that there was an entire world out there to be explored would thrill them to no end. All while growing up the skydancer would go out with her two best friends, Storm and Honeydew, to explore the world around them. It was inevitable, really, that the second they got the chance the trio would set off on their grand journey. When they were old enough, the three packed their things and parted ways with their family. They travelled for years and years, visiting various regions and meeting many new dragons. All of them felt with certainty that they would be doing this forever. Of course, things didn't quite go to plan. As they were visiting their homeland, the Tangled Wood, Honeydew fell ill. They paused in their journey, hoping for a quick break so their friend could recover before they were on their way. But Honeydew didn't recover. Once the dragon had passed on, Hail and Storm planted a tree in her honour. Hail inherited the bag of strange rune-like rocks she had always carried around, and eventually passed them on to Runekeeper, her mentee. Now, Hail runs the clan primarily in Honeydew's memory. She wants to make a safe haven, somewhere dragons can reside when they have nowhere else to go, when they need shelter, or whenever they might need it. She only hopes she's made her old friend proud. |
