____Keith grew up in the vast deserts of Nowhere, and lived with his father, until he was killed in line of duty. He struggled with finding his place, until Shiro introduced him to a world beyond the stars and encouraged Keith's natural talent with flight. He became one of Keith's most trusted friends. Losing Shiro left him adrift, and he refused to lose sight of him, caught up in a spiral of near-obsession trying to debunk the truth behind the failure of his first space mission. He was the first to rescue his mate. It would become a recurring theme in their relationship.

____Keith followed Shiro into a galactic war, and when he was believed dead, took up the mantle he left behind to continue a fight for the betterment of the entire universe and in the process, found the truth about his mother and interstellar history. He joined the Blade of Marmora, one of the few decisions he ever made for his own benefit, with the support of his friends and family. When he returned to the Voltron team, it was stronger, steadier and more powerful than ever before.
